The next time you are visiting a pasar malam, keep an eye out for this stall called Mao Mao Ultrachef that sells salted egg dishes like salted egg squid (signature item), mantis shrimp, chicken, prawn, abalone mushroom and pumpkin.
They deep fry the ingredients and cook the salted egg sauce on the spot, so the food tastes fresh, warm and crunchy.
The entire process is quite a show especially when the cook shakes and tosses the wok full of seafood. But more importantly, the food actually tastes good and similar to what you get at Chinese restaurants. Worth a try!
Price: RM10 for 120g of seafood/chicken, or 170g of mushroom and pumpkin. You can mix and match too.
